ANMW (Association of Newspaper & Magazine Wholesalers)

The ANMW approached us for assistance with their National Database Monitor.

The system was intended to process information on 1,700 new records each day and provide extensive live reporting facilities on 2 years' worth of data whilst retaining all data for 7 years.

The original platform was Microsoft SQL Server, and the application was written in Perl. As the amount of stored data increased, performance drastically declined resulting in the application becoming unusable.

In accordance with the customer's requirements, Spanner Software designed and developed a new system based on PHP and MySQL. The new system now generates reports quickly on over 2,000,000 records.
